Project Manager

The Opportunity

We have an open full time/contract position for a Project Manager who has experience in managing teams in custom software and digital experiences for various platforms (web, mobile apps, AR, VR, etc). The right Project Manager, or Digital Producer, will be extremely detail oriented, task driven, entrepreneurial, highly organized, self-driven and a passion for excellence. We are an agile team of software and marketing professionals, with an office in the center of Downtown Spokane. The position has the potential to grow into a full-time position as we grow.

Your Responsibilities

  • Liaising with colleagues to implement technical designs
  • Analyze user requirements and convert requirements to technical documents as needed
  • Possess up-to-date knowledge of industry standards
  • Test software project to ensure strong functionality and optimization
  • Compile comprehensive and accurate documentation and or reports as requested
  • Communicate effectively and professionally in all forms of communication with internal and external customers
  • Possess strong problem solving and decision-making skills while using good judgment
  • Collaborate closely with the Houdini team to ensure a high-quality implementation
  • Communicate your knowledge and expertise well in meetings with our clients and partners
  • Work with the sales team as the contract is signed, becoming familiar with contract requirements, project modifications, and other project-specific background information
  • Manage and assume accountability for all aspects of projects related to delivery of client projects and services
  • Conduct planning sessions with the client’s key stakeholders
  • May be responsible for ensuring assigned clients pay invoices in a timely manner 
  • Ensure that resources are scheduled and monitor progress to ensure compliance with the project plan, immediately notifying affected parties of any schedule issues or concerns
  • Use Houdini’s tools to publish a summary of key dates and issues to all team members and stakeholders involved in the project, such as development, implementation, support, and other project managers
  • Communicate regularly with clients regarding project status and quality of service and take immediate corrective action as required
  • Anticipate, identify, and resolve roadblocks, such as hardware, software, or networking incompatibilities and unresponsive third party vendors or clients
  • Communicate completion of milestones/deliverables to clients and secure formal acceptance from them
  • Upon project completion, conduct project close reviews to learn what is working and areas of opportunity for improvement
  • Communicate with the leadership team regularly, ensuring timely delivery of schedules and revenue projections; relaying personnel, client, contract, and departmental issues; seeking assistance as needed
  • Identify upsell opportunities and manage contract addendum and change orders
  • Travel to client sites as needed
  • Cultivating strong relationships with our partners and clients
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What You Bring

  • 3+ Years software / mobile app experience as a software developer
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A broad understanding, comfort, and enthusiasm for technology and the ability to quickly and proactively learn new technologies, techniques, and tools
  • Bachelor’s degree, or comparable work experience
  • Solid and proven project management experience essential.
  • Software life-cycle and design life-cycle knowledge
  • Experience in the marketing agency world
  • Excellent planning, organizational skills and ability to follow-through to completion
  • Exceptional customer service skills – Houdini is based on communication and relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical and non-technical information to various audiences including management
  • Proficiency using computers and other technologies
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Strong analytical ability, particularly in a technical environment
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a fast paced, technical environment
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a positive, professional attitude
  • Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and persuasion skills
  • Valid driver’s license

Pluses

  • Experience in interdisciplinary development projects
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary development teams
  • Experience with the WordPress CMS or similar

Software Engineer

The Opportunity

We have an open full-time / contract position for a Software Engineer who has experience in creating custom applications and software for a variety of platforms and executions. The right Engineer will be extremely self-motivated, organized, and proficient in their field, with a thirst to push themselves and their boundaries. We are an agile team of professionals, with an office in the center of Downtown Spokane. The position has the potential to grow into a full-time position as we grow.

Your Responsibilities

  • Resolve complex technical design issues
  • Liaising with colleagues to implement technical designs
  • Development of technical specifications and plans
  • Analyze user requirements and convert requirements to design documents
  • Make good technical decisions that provide effective solutions to business challenges
  • Enhancing applications by identifying opportunities for improvement, making recommendations and designing and implementing systems
  • Maintaining and improving existing codebases and peer reviewed code changes
  • Investigating and using new technologies where relevant
  • Possess up-to-date knowledge of technological developments in the industry
  • Test, maintain and recommend software improvements to ensure strong functionality and optimization
  • Compile comprehensive and accurate documentation and or reports as requested
  • Communicate effectively and professionally in all forms of communication with internal and external customers
  • Possess strong problem solving and decision-making skills while using good judgment
  • Collaborate closely with the Houdini team to ensure a high-quality implementation
  • Communicate your knowledge and expertise well in meetings with our clients and partners

What You Bring

  • 3+ Years software / mobile app experience as a software developer
  • Application architecture and design patterns
  • Experience serving as technical lead throughout the full software development lifecycle, from conception, architecture definition, detailed design, scoping, planning, implementation, testing to documentation, delivery and maintenance is preferred
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms and software methodologies
  • Game development and design experience
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort working in a collaborative environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A broad understanding, comfort, and enthusiasm for technology and the ability to quickly and proactively learn new technologies, techniques, and tools

Pluses

  • Unity 3D experience
  • Unreal Engine experience
  • iOS/Android App Development experience
  • Experience in interdisciplinary development projects
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary development teams
  • Familiarity with platforms such as Arduino and/or Raspberry Pi
  • Experience in the design/fabrication of interactive mediums (set design, exhibit design, product design, etc)
  • Experience using version control tools like git
  • Experience with of web technologies
  • Basic knowledge of low voltage wiring/prototyping
